Advetrtising has changed alot since the
1950s and 60s. Here we show some
shocking campaigns that put women
down. These type of advertisements
were the norm in this era.
Of course sexism still occurs in
this day and age, but there are
countless Watchdogs and Associations
to moderate today's advertising.
American Apparel is constantly
under fire for sexualising women
and young girls.

The Advertising Standards Authority
(ASA) banned in September 2014 a
shocking advertising campaign for promoting seedy up-skirt photographs taken from beneath a woman's skirt. The images were considered gratuitous and objectified women therefore subsequently being banned.
