What you need to know before going red

It seems like red locks are everywhere
these days. Jessica Chastain, Christina Hendricks
from Mad Men, Amy Adams and Julianne Moore
are acustomed to sporting red hair.

But other celebrities such as Rachel McAdams,
Emma Stone and Kristen Stewart have dyed
their locks red recently, and it seems like
the trend is on the rise.

Only 1% of women are blessed with red as a
natural hair colour. Red hair and blue eyes
is the rarest combination in the world, most
red-heads have hazel, brown or green eyes.

The colour seems to be becoming a trend, but
dying your hair red is not a decision to be taken
lightly. The colour red stands out and does not blend
in, so if you are looking for a colour that will passed unnoticed red is not the one for you.

Red is a high-maintenance colour that fades quickly, so that should also be taken into account. Fail-safe colours are auburn tones and chestnut, because they add colour and warmth to the skin. People with olive skin tones should be careful with how red they go, and the general rule is the darker your skin tone the darker the red hair colour should be.
