A rain of spiders that caused terror in Australia

A rain of spiders that caused terror in Australia
Like a scene in a horror film, panic ensued in the city of Goulburn when it started raining spiders- and millions of them. This phenomenon had already occurred in WaggaWagga, Australia, back in 2012. According to witnesses, everything was covered in small black spiders. The whole Southern Tablelands region experienced this time the event, that is actually quite natural, but rare in many parts of the World. Spiders can travel kilometres, which is the reason why every continent has spiders. Even the Antarctic, in which they die after arrival. The explanation for the "rain of spiders" is due to the rainfall that has affected the region. They climb to the high tips of trees and travel in the wind. With their silk webs they can be lifted by the currents of air. This phenomenon is known as "mass ballooning" or "kitting". It is considered a mass migration made by spiders, suddenly "flakes" of spiders fall from the sky, like snow. The spiders are very very small, so they are perceived sometimes as "babies", even though they are adults. In actual fact, most of the spiders die during the journey because of harsh weather conditions or even predators of the skies. The spiders are thought to be harmless, which is good news for the Aussies in the Southern Tablelands region.
