She's the best payed french actress, a
spokesperson for Lady Dior and a singer under
the name of Simone. "Two days, One night" is a
film about Sandra (Cotillard), a worker and mother,
who has to convince her work collegues to renounce
to their annual bonus so she can keep her job.
Cotillard has won over the 59 members of the
National Society of Film Critics, that preffered
her over Julianne Moore and Scarlett Johansson
as best actress of 2014. She has also been nominated
for a 2015 Academy Award. At 39 years old, she
has been working more than 20 as an actress. Her
mother was a drama teacher and her father is a
former mime. She has more than fifty films under
her belt and a long lists of awards. The bilingual
actress, who acts in french and english, already
picked up an Academy Award in 2008 for her
portrayal of Edith Piaf in "La vie en rose". Her
nomination in the 2015 Academy Awards came as a
surprise to many, while other major actresses were
snubbed from the awards such as Jennifer Aniston
for her performance in Cake.
