Scandinavian Interior Design is characterized by simplicity, functionality, comfort and minimalism. The philosophy of the movement is a careful combination of simple and beautiful elements.
Colours should be kept in simple bloc-colours with neutral colours such as white and greys dominating over bright colours. The movement originated in Scandinavian countries in the 1950s and dabbled in the idea that beautiful and functional objects should be available to the rich and the poor. It's hard to fault the Scandinavian principles of clean lines, simplicity and lightness.
