Rafael Viñoly is the architect responsible for
founding Rafael Viñoly Architects PC in 1983.
One of the uruguayan born designer's most
important pieces of work is the Tokyo
International Forum, for which he won an
international competition to design in 1996.
The Forum is considered by some to be the
most important cultural complex in Japan.
His firm has completed a multitude of
successful projects including banks,
convention centres, hotels, hospitals and
athletic facilities to name a few. Other notable designs by Rafael Viñoly are the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburg, Jongno Tower of Seoul, University of Oxford Mathematical Institute and
the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
