Bob Dylan, singer-songwriter |
A small German label, "Bear Family Records", are undertaking a huge project: to record the
story of the singer-songwriter. The company will release four sets of CDs, each with three CDs,
with the music of the artists from the time period 1933 to 1969.
Each CD set incorporates a bi-lingual comprehensive booklet, explaining
the significance of the songs at the time.
The CDs start with music pioneers from the thirties such as the Carter Family, a
clan that would travel through the United States collecting songs. The CD series,
coined "Troubadors", then goes on to collect the early songs of first folk bards in New York;
then to the singer-songwriters of the civil rights movement, ending with the 1969 song of
the flower children.
