For many people it takes endless sugar
fixes, caffeine drinks and naps to get
through the day. And when it's time
for them to go to sleep at night,
they struggle to fall asleep.
The most common reasons people
consult doctors are for low energy,
low mood, unhealthy sleep patterns
and exhaustion.
Unless there is a medical explanation for this, normally this is an unavoidable side effect of modern life.
Lifestyle and symptoms can be assessed to get to the root cause; diet. Integrative medicine
is taught at medical school in the USA and Australia, but widely ignored in countries such as the UK.
It's research and principles help people have more energy and a healthier immune system;
important to ward of diseases and chronic health problems.
Here is some medical advice on how to achieve optimum health and to have more energy:
1. Cut chemicals. Chemicals in our environment can disrupt the thyroid gland causing low
libido, poor attention, erectile dysfunction and memory loss. Alcohol, smoking and high levels
of caffeine can also cause neuronal dysfunction. Cutting down on processed foods and switching
to organic vegetables decreases our exposure to chemicals.
2. Eat healthily. A healthy diet consists of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, meat,
fish fresh water and herbal tea. If these foods aren't at the core of the diet, our body can
become acidic and this can cause a number of health problems.
3. Cut down on sugars. Sugar is present in many unexpected foods (bread, drinks, yoghurt,
sauces) as well as in sweet foods.
Consuming these foods causes sugar spikes that cause the body to stop being able to regulate
it's own energy and causes sugar addiction.
4. Cut down on milk and wheat products. Gluten and lactose cause a bacterial imbalance in the
gut, and it is important to regulate the intake of these products. Abdominal discomfort, bloating,
weight gain, tiredness, aches, pains and poor concentration.
5. Sort out your adrenal fatigue. The adrenals are two small glands that sit on top of the
kidneys. They regulate stress, maintain energy and regulate the immune system. Stress causes
adrenal failure. The best way to aid the adrenals is through identifying the causes of stress, having
regular exercise and a healthy diet.
